"Hold On" or "Hold On Just a Little While Longer" is a song that is used in Detroit: Become Human. It is sung by various androids throughout the game and its extended universe.

The song was not written for the game, but is a real-world gospel song, "Hold On Just a Little While Longer", written by Rev. Cleophus Robinson Jr. and originating on his 1980 album, Consolation.

The song as sung by Luther and Markus was performed by singer Jua Amir.[1] The same audio track was used for both performances, though the Markus version includes additional harmony from North and other androids.

Lyrics[]

  • Verse:
Hold on just a little while longer
Hold on just a little while longer
Hold on just a little while longer
Everything will be alright
Everything will be alright
Fight on just a little while longer
Fight on just a little while longer
(Fight/Pray) on just a little while longer
Everything will be alright
Everything will be alright
  • Chorus:
(We will) sing on just a little while longer
Sing on just a little while longer
Sing on just a little while longer
Everything will be alright
Everything will be alright...

Appearances[]

  • In the short film "Luther", the android Luther sings the song.
  • In the chapter "Jericho", Lucy is heard humming the song when Markus first arrives in Jericho.
  • In the chapter "Battle for Detroit", Markus has the choice to sing this song at the end of the Demonstration path, and is joined by his fellow androids.
  • Hostess Chloe may sing this song at random times when idling in the main screen of the game. She only sings one verse.

Notes[]

  • Markus' version does not sing the words "We will".
  • Luther's version sings "We will" as well as using three lines of "Fight on" instead of one line of "Pray on" in the second verse.
  • Chloe's version consists of only the first 5 sentences.
