Notes[]

  • Considering the Jericho raid in the previous chapter, the title of this chapter is a reference to the Night of Broken Glass which was a pogrom against Jews in Nazi Germany.
    • This chapter takes place on November 10. This is the date that pogrom took place on in 1938 (100 years ago exactly).
  • There are two dialogues between North and Markus if he talks to her:
    • If Markus wasn't exiled, they will discuss about the topics of what's gonna happen with their people.
    • If Markus was exiled, North will apologize to Markus for exiling him in Jericho.
  • There are two major bugs in this chapter on PS4. If Hank quits the force and Connor finds Jericho in Last Chance, Connor, Markus dies in Freedom March or dies or leaves Jericho in Crossroads, and Connor deviates but dies in Crossroads, he will return alive for both "Hank's House" and "Connor on Sacred Ground", continuing the story as a deviant despite dying in Crossroads. This is caused by a missed check for his death in Crossroads as a part of the branch where Markus is absent and Hank quit the force.
    • There is another bug associated with this one that softlocks the game and makes it impossible to advance without replaying Crossroads. If Hank quits the force in Last Chance, Connor, Markus leaves Jericho at the beginning of Crossroads, Connor arrives and deviates but dies trying to blow up the ship, and Markus returns to Jericho but dies trying to save North after she's shot, the same bug will occur where deviant Connor returns for "Connor on Sacred Ground". However in this branch a flag indicating that North has been injured has been set, since Markus's presence after returning to Jericho pushed the "North is Shot" sequence to the player. The game originally anticipated that Connor could talk to North about her injuries since he also had the choice to save or leave her. This was filmed by the actors and fully implemented in the sequence where Connor talks to her, but later removed by Quantic Dream. However the sequence itself still anticipates that Connor should be able to ask her this if the North wounded flag is set, so after asking her about "SITUATION", "SURVIVORS", and "MARKUS", the game returns the player to a choicegroup cyc expecting the text "WOUND" to be on the screen, but the actual data associated with the choice was scrubbed from the sequence and the game softlocks in the choicegroup.
    • The bug where Connor returns for "Connor on Sacred Ground" was fixed on PC, making it impossible to get the subsequent softlock and North dialog line.
  • Kara is the only playable protagonist who can make an appearance in this chapter, but she will never be playable there, regardless of player’s choice.
  • The only time Kara and Connor talk is in this chapter after Jericho is blown up. However, their face to face interaction happens only if Markus gets killed or rejected prior to that scene.
  • Carl's vital signs in this chapter are displayed on a monitor, where it shows that he has a heart rate of 42 bmp, an oxygen saturation of 65% (which causes impaired mental function on average), and a respiratory rate of 7 breaths per minute (which is under the average for his age group).

Attention to Detail[]

Things you can do with little to no story impact:

  • Observations Markus can make in Carl's house that are not in the flowchart:
    • an umbrella stand full of canes
    • the android canaries (you cannot activate them this chapter)
    • a glass display case of sculptures in the den
    • the giraffe (only from the ground floor)
    • a set of candles & an animal skin rug on the piano
  • You can see the Tracis from the Eden Club in the background behind Simon if you decided to save them.

Footnotes[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 Thin Ice is counted as an ending since Connor's section of the level can end after it.
